This Kirby & West milk float was built by the company in 1959 and first registered for use in March 1960.
Kirby & West built 214 very similar milk floats in its own workshops from 1956 to 1993. The milk float was powered by batteries which literally weighed ‘a ton’.

The top speed was 12mph.

LTHT are grateful to Managing Director of Kirby & West, Graham Smith, for donating this milk float to our collection.
